John Luther Hudnall, 75, of Shelbyville, died Saturday,Jan. 16, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 7, 1934, in Arkansas, he was the son of John O. and Reba Jane (Reece) Hudnall. He married Betty Jean Veerkamp on July 12, 1958, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Laura (husband, Mark) Horine, Kasie (husband, Troy) Brant and Evelyn Sebastian, all of Shelbyville, Deidre (husband, Larry) Graham of Greensburg, Melinda Eikman of Waldron and Becky Chappelow of St. Paul; sons, James Hudnall of Shelbyville, Charles Hudnall and Joe Hudnall, both of Waldron, Wray (wife, Annette) Hudnall of Noblesville, Michael Hudnall of Lafayette and Daniel (wife, Amanda) Hudnall of St. Paul; 24 grandchildren, 12 great-children; brothers, Robert Hudnall of Greenfield, Franklin Hudnall of Virginia and Pat Hudnall of Laurel; and sister, Judy Wingate of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Loren Hudnall; daughters-in-law Sandra Hudnall and Patricia Hudnall; sister, Marie Jackson; and a great-granddaughter.

Mr. Hudnall had been employed in janitorial services for Major Hospital until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Hudnall was known for his woodworking craftsmanship, which he mainly donated for gifts and charity. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clyde McCammack officiating.

Burial will be at Honors & Glory Veterans Garden in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be donated to the Shelby County Cancer Society, 126 N. Harrison St., or Hospice of Shelby County, 110 S. Harrison St., both in Shelbyville IN 46176.
