Christopher J. Scroggham, 48, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born July 7, 1961, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Christopher C. and Jacquelynn (Basey) Scroggham. He married Mary K. Redd on Aug. 8, 1987, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Christopher J. Scroggham; daughters, Kaymie Sue Scroggham and Angel Mathena, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Sherry Basey Redd of St. Paul and Darlene Sue Wolfe of Terre Haute; a brother, Bobby Scroggham of Terre Haute; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Mr. Scroggham enjoyed fishing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christopher J. Scroggham Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

I have known Chris since I was a child he was more of a father to me than anyone else ever wanted to be. He was my children papaw and we will all miss him greatly.
Please rest in peace forever we will always love you and cherish our memories of you FOREVER!
