Shirley Anne Skillman, 74, of Shelbyville died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Major Hospital.
Born May 27, 1935, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Maurice C. "Bus" and Mary Alice (Ray) Griffith. She married James B. Skillman Sr. on Aug. 2, 1969, and he survives.
Other survivors include her children, Hal (wife, Brenda) Covington, Linda Richards, Lisa (husband, Terry) Kitchin, Mary (husband, Mickey) Phares and James B. "Jimmy" (wife, Mandy) Skillman Jr., all of Shelbyville; sisters, Nancy Nigh and Dora Scott, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Melvin Griffith and Mike Griffith, both of Shelbyville; aunt, Dorothy Whitlock of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Misty, Christy, Sabrina Anne, Dicky, Tony, Kelly, Andy, Cory and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Macy, Deacon, Abbilynn, Jenna, Rylee, Damion, Chase, Hannah, Eadin, Asher, Kody and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and great-granddaughter, Kayla.
Mrs. Skillman was formerly employed at Admiral Corp.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Riley Highway,
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Stephen Bohall officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
