Lena Mae Keel, 91 of Shelbyville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at her residence.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1925 in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of John Oral Bowers and Lou Versa (Sullivan) Bowers.
Lena married Jesse Lee Keel on Aug. 27, 1943, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1988.
Lena is survived by one daughter, Janie (husband, Mark) Smith, of Indianapolis; two sons, Donald Keel, of Mississippi, and Kent Keel, of Morristown; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son: Ronald Keel, Sr., three infant children; and nine of her siblings.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She worked at General Electric until her retirement. Lena enjoyed collecting cookie jars.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 03, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating.
Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
