Naomi J. Collins, 94, of Nashville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville.
Born Saturday, April 8, 1922, in Rushville, she was the daughter of Everett Ross and Nina (Richey) Ross.
Naomi married Gerald Ray Collins on Saturday, Aug. 8, 1942, and he passed away Aug. 31, 2010.
Naomi is survived by her daughter, Nancy Alford-Gable and husband, Dannie, of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Sharon Collins, of Manilla; sisters, Carolyn Thurston and Lois Collins, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Diane Marie Kuhn, Kara Lynn Brown and Jeffrey David Alford; great-grandchildren, Kent Brown, Alyssa Brown, Racheal Brown, Danielle Kuhn, Ashley Kuhn, Christine Kuhn, Richard Kuhn, Andrew Alford and Sydney Alford; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gerald Collins Jr.; daughter, Alice Kay Collins; two brothers; and three sisters.
She was a member of Town and Country Christian Church, where she taught kindergarten Sunday school.
She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and reading.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Bruce Banister officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
