Darrell L. Gibson, 60, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South.

He was born July 7, 1956, in Franklin, the son of Henry Gibson and Donna (Boll) Gibson.

Surviving are brother, Darren Gibson of Greenwood and his dog, Buddy.

Mr. Gibson graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1974, where he won several vocal competitions.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and past president of Kiwanis Club in Shelbyville.

He was a Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Gibson was DJ for several stations in Indiana, Mississippi and Missouri. He was also owner and operator of  Night Live Entertainment.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory in Shelbyville in the Honor and Glory Veterans Garden, with military rites by local veterans organizations.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Gibson.
