Willie Carl Thompson, 64, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at his residence.

Born Oct. 29, 1952, in Franklin, he was the son of Willie Thomas Thompson and Opal Thompson. Willie married Sandy (Shepard) Thompson on May 23, 2007, and she survives.

Willie is survived by his wife; mother; three children, Dana Thompson, Andrew Thompson and Brian Thompson, all of Edinburgh; three sisters: Lura Miller and husband, Robert, of Edinburgh; Shirley Martin and husband, Tim, of Martinsville; and Betty Jean Miller and husband, LeRoy, of Trafalgar; stepchildren: Jane Bloucher and husband, Bob, of Waldron; Edward Tucker Jr. of Shelbyville; Brian K. Tucker of Greenwood; Michele Renee Barnhart of Indianapolis; Michael Ray Tucker of Indianapolis; Rick Tucker and wife, Stacy, of New Palestine; Stacey Chaney and husband, Jeff, of Shelbyville; and Scott Tucker and wife, Jeanette, of Franklin; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his sisters, Rhonda Carmichael and Janice Thompson; and stepson, Kevin Wayne Tucker.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the Salvation Army Church.

Willie was an animal lover and enjoyed his time spent fishing. He volunteered and donated his time helping people with their yard work.

Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory in Shelbyville, with Lt. Stephen DeLacy officiating. Military rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Thompson.
