Michael “Mikey” Giltner, 30, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Dec. 25, 1985, in Indianapolis, to Gale Andrew Giltner and Cheryl Gumm Giltner.

Surviving are his mother; daughter, Penelope Giltner; and brother, Aaron Giltner.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mikey was a professional carpet layer for the past several years.

He was blessed with a very artistic drawing talent and also was very musically inclined. His friendly personality was received by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edwin Mohr officiating.

Interment with private graveside service will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help cover Mikey’s funeral expenses.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for the Giltner family.

I know Mikey struggled w/a drug addiction, but the earth lost an angel, even as heaven gained one. Mikey had a good soul. I'm glad he's at peace in God's loving arms.
