Raymond Wayne Hampton, 64 of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 12, 1951 in Rushville, IN, he was the son of Jessie and Don Sanders and the late Robert Hampton.
He married Linda Ann Cordrey on Sept. 22, 1973 and she survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Jodi (Jeff) Hardt of Westfield, IN and Kelli (Doug) Warner of Manilla, IN, grandchildren, Nathaniel Warner and Alexander Hardt, sister, Angie Phares (Marty Green) of Shelbyville, IN., half-brother, Bill (Helen) Hampton of Greensburg, IN, brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Penny Poe, favorite mother-in-law, Patricia Cordrey, niece and nephews, Danielle and Dustin Phares and Shane, Trevor, Clint Poe, Shelbyville, IN. Also his dogs, Madison and Murdock.
He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, Herman Keit Cordrey.
Ray was employed at Sandman Brothers as a mechanic for 35 years. He was a member of Shelby Shifters Car Club and TBPA Club. Ray enjoyed old cars, motorcycles and being a demolition derby driver.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 27 West Broadway, Shelbyville, IN.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the church with Reverend Harvey Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory, Shelbyville, IN.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shelby County Cancer Society or First Baptist Church.
