Kathryn Pilk, 78, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at Waldron Health and Rehab, Waldron.

Born June 29, 1937, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John Goodin and the late Martha (McQuery) Goodin.

She worked at KCL where she met and then married Ray M. Pilk, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Surviving are sons: Darin Pilk and wife, Melissa, of Shelbyville; and Jamie Pilk of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kathleen, Kinley, Nash, Rayna, Jamie Jr, Damon, Cal and Amy; several great-grandchildren, and brother, Rufus Goodin of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mrs. Pilk was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters and daughter-in-law, Laura Pilk.

She enjoyed bluegrass music and dancing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Pilk.

It was a pleasure to know Kathryn over the past several years. She could be counted on for a bright smiling face and pleasant comments. Her family has my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time and especially at this time of year.
