Thelma L. DeBaun, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
Born June 20, 1934, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Bernard O. Jeffries and Isabelle G. (McColley) Jeffries. Thelma married Jack DeBaun on Dec. 26, 1953, and he survives.
Thelma is also survived by daughters: Karen A. LeBrun and husband, Michael, of Shelbyville; Susan K. Hill and husband, Todd, of Shelbyville; and Sara J. Davis and husband, Alan, of Greenfield; grandson, Shane Hill of Shelbyville; stepgrandson, Alex Davis of Bahrain; and sister, Virginia "Ginny" Higgins and husband, Jack, of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Mrs. DeBaun was employed at Major Hospital in the business office, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mrs. DeBaun enjoyed playing bingo.
Her family is one of the founding families of the Bears of Blue River Camping Club.
One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her grandson.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. DeBaun may be given to Shelby County Special Olympics, in care of the funeral home.
