Ernest L. McGraw, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away  Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South.

Born Oct. 7, 1939, in Evansville, he was the son of Roger McGraw and Viola (Hicks) McGraw. He married Connie Knight on Dec. 30, 1982, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons: Daniel McGraw and wife, Susan, of Glennallen, Illinois; and David McGraw and wife, Heather, of Denver, Colorado; daughters: Misti Hedden and husband, Craig, of Indianapolis; and Heather Murphy of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Shane, Sarah, Austin, Shannon, Brandon, Bowen, Bailen, Broc and one on the way, Aiden; and his sister, Peggy Schroer and husband, Don, of Atlanta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Steinback.

Mr. McGraw served in the National Guard for 10 years.

He was employed at Naval Avionics for 36 years as director of manufacturing.

He enjoyed fishing and camping.

He was a member of the Sertoma Club where he was an avid trap shooter and received several awards.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville.

Private family funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Shelby County, P.O. Box 844, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. McGraw.
