Kevin "Mark" Spurgin, Jr, 31, of Shelbyville, passed away, Thursday, June 4, 2015 in an automobile accident.

He was born to Kevin Mark Spurgin, Sr and Tina Louise (Walker) Surber in Lakenheath, England while his father was serving there in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his parents;  son, Clayton Mark Spurgin Surber; sister, Shanon Jackson; nephew, Joseph Dante Perdue and niece, Summer Jackson.

Mark grauduated from Southwestern High School in 2001.

His trade was painting and drywalling.  He also was skilled in construction and restoration of homes after a disaster.

He won the Indiana Open Martial Arts Championship in 1998.  His hobbies included karate and hunting.  He took great pride in his automobiles.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 3 - 5 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Howard Houston officiating.

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mark.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you try to return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of your family and friends. However we also pray that you take the time to examine the comfort our Creator offers in his word at Revelation 21:3.4 and Job 14:14,15.
