Ruth A. Hall, 81, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.

Born April 1, 1934, in Ripley County, Indiana to Lorin and Christina (Johnson) Thomas.

She attended Moscow Grade School and graduated from Manilla High School.

On May 27, 1955, she married the father of her children Vincent Hall. Their home was blessed with four children Melany Prather, David Hall of Shelbyville, Rev. P. Dan Hall (Cathy) of Allentown, PA and Tim Hall (Danette) of Fishers, IN.

She is survived by her grandchildren Elizabeth and Thor Hall of Allentown, PA, Olivia, Joshua and Caleb Hall of Fishers.

Sister Mildred Platt, Marlene Meyers, brother Floyd (Peggy) Thomas.  Nieces and nephews Mike (Rose) Feaster, Susan (Randy) Daniel Young, Beverly (Rob) Saunders and Emily and Andrew Saunders, Steve Meyers, Jonathan Thomas, Norm (Kathy) Gahimer, Wendy and Aaron Strickland, Phil (Doretta) Gahimer, Jeremy Gahimer, Jerry (Kim) Gahimer, Miranda (Doug) and Liam Ulrich, Curtis Gahimer, Karen (Garrick) Williams and Gary Williams, Christina (Rick) Smothers and Kerrigan and Cayman Smothers,  Jennifer (Chris) Wainscott and Sophia, Henry, Sean, Edith Wainscott.  Lifelong friend Fern Harrison, loving friend Linda Cord, special cousin Kearney (Ruth) Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, wonderful sister, Rosemary Gahimer, nephews Jeffrey Gahimer and Kenneth Gahimer, precious niece Stephanie Gahimer and infant twin boys of Christina and Rick Smother.  She also leaves behind a host of friends and church family.

Her greatest passion was reading the Bible and teaching Sunday School classes.  She was a member of the Grace Wesleyan Church from the age of 16.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. and Friday, May 1, 2015 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Grace Wesleyan Church.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 1, 2015 1t 10 a.m. at the church with Dr. John Hundley officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Wesleyan Church.

Funeral directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Hall.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mel - I know how close you were to your mom and know how hard this must be for you. Just know that she is looking down on all of you and is still with you in your heart and soul.

Melany and family,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time of grief and sorrow. Ruth was such a blessing to us we will always remember her kindness towards us. She was a great Sunday School teacher. Ruth will be greatly missed by all at Grace Wesleyan Church.

David and Melany my heart goes out to both I have shared your grief as I lost my parents many year ago but the pain is always there in missing them. May God be with you all.

I'm sorry for your loss, even tho I know this is a very difficult time to go thru it is as well a happy time for Ruth for she has went home to be with Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, so as you mourn celebrate her life as well and give thanks to God for the time you had with her. God Bless you all.
