William H. Ogden, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 13, 1936, to George Ogden and Clara Ann (Tomela) Odgen in Shelbyville. He married Patricia A. Sillman on April 12, 1964, and she survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Renee A. Brewer of Shelbyville; son, Richard Herring; six grandchildren, Betsy Davis, Amanda Thoman, Edie Hughes, Kyle Herring, Jamy Herring and Kaci Herring; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Boles, Emma Miles and Georgiann McWilliams; and brother, Jack Ogden.
Mr. Ogden was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was employed as a quality control engineer at Allison Rolls Royce. He was a truly gifted photographer. His work was displayed at the antiques and art gallery they owned and operated in Homer. Mr. Odgen was a strong supporter of the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter.
He was a great chef with several champion trophies for cooking contests. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially when their grandchildren accompanied them.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus, IN 47201.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Ogden.
