Ralph R. Klein, 88, of Walland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015.
He was born May 25, 1926, to Wilbur and Helen L. Neil Klein.
Mr. Klein served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and later served in the U.S. Army also.
He worked for the federal government as an air traffic controller.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and served as adjutant for the Kent Island, Missouri, post.
In his spare time, Mr. Klein loved fixing anything that needed to be repaired.
He was of the Episcopal faith.
Survivors include wife, Ruth Mariam Spurlin Klein; sons: John A. Klein and wife, Gail; Steven R. Klein; and Craig Klein and wife, Mary Beth; daughters: Jackie Ray and husband, Jim; Judy Mendelson and husband, Mark; and Suzanne Suttles and husband, George; daughter-in-law, Emily Klein; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Glenda Spurlin Ennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Klein; sister, Thelma; and brother, Wilbur Klein.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Graveside services will follow at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Klein.
