Murrell L. Anderson, 70, of Waldron, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Jan.26, 1935, to Edward Anderson and Mae Louise (Hill) Anderson in Partridge, Kentucky.
He married Oneda Tyra on Sept. 3, 1960, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Arthur Anderson of Clarkston, Michigan, and Al Anderson of Shelbyville; five grandchildren; four great-granchildren; and his brother, Earl Anderson of Greensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His granchildren always had a special place in his heart.
His generosity was always proven by how freely he gave to others who were in need.
The family gives special thanks to OUr Hospice of South Central Indiana; to his caregiver, Angie Bills; and to Major Hospital Palliative Care Nurse Janice Huntsman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 7414 E. Michigan Road, Waldron, IN 46182.
