Brett Alan Keel, 50, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Waldron Health & Rehab.
He was born July 31, 1964, to Kenneth "Bud" Keel and Lyda (Nolen) Keel in Shelbyville.
Survivors include his grandmother, Eva Keel of Shelbyville, with whom he made his home; father and stepmother, Kenneth "Bud" and Jean Keel of Shelbyville; sister, Angie Hendrickson and husband, Phillip, of Shelbyville; brother, Tim Goff and wife, Elizabeth; nephews, Casey and Ross Hendrickson; nieces, Olivia and Jackie Goff; several cousins; and his dog, Precious.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lyda Nolen Keel; grandfather, Richard Keel; uncle, Tom Keel; and aunt, Martha Branson.
Brett graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1982, and had been employed at Shares, Inc. for 30 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Brett loved "Duck Dynasty," movies, music, shopping at Walmart, flea markets and checking buildings with his father in the '80s and '90s.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Love, the Rev. Edwin Mohr and Robert Prather officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
