Jobe Arthur Scott, 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Major Hospital.  He was born March 26, 1921 to Homer J Scott and Minnie L. (Moore) Scott in Bengal.  He married Elaine Ruschhaupt on March 6, 1948, and she survives.

Other survivors include his son, Toby (wife, Lola) Scott, of Shelbyville; daughter, Leanne (husband, Gary) Edwards, of Shelbyville; grandsons, Phillip Scott and Angelo Dellapenna; granddaughters, Mindy (husband, Kevin) Martin and LeeAnn Thurston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill Scott, Myron Scott, Walter Scott and Larry Scott; and two sisters, Thelma Drake and Ruth Clasco.

Mr. Scott graduated from Boggstown High School in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Mr. Scott retired from the Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Indianapolis.  He also was employed as a courier for local banks for several years.

He was a member of Bengal Christian Church.

Mr. Scott was a lifetime member of Shelby Lodge No. 28 F&AM and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 70.

Mr. Scott enjoyed all sports, especially Indiana University basketball, Indianapolis Colts football and Cincinnati Reds baseball.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Horner officiating.

Burial will be Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with military rites provided by local military organizations.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Legion Post 70, 1125 Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Scott.
