Mary Alice McNew, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Major Hospital.
She was born Aug. 23, 1939, to Clifford McNew and Ruth (Hodge) McNew in Shelbyville.
Survivors include four brothers, Richard McNew of West Virginia, Dale McNew of Florida, Gerald McNew of London and Roger McNew and his wife, Kathy, of Indianapolis; three sisters: Ann Montgomery of Indianapolis; Jeanie Burch and husband, Frank, of Shelbyville; and Wanda McNew of Shelbyville; son-in-law, Charlie Ramey of Fairland; two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clifford McNew and Billy McNew; sister, Barbara Ramey; and daughter, Holly Angel.
Ms. McNew worked for the federal government in several different agencies for over 30 years.
She attended New Life Methodist Church.
Ms. McNew had a passion for basketball and followed several different teams in different leagues. Otherwise, she was always up for the challenge of a new crossword puzzle.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Ramey officiating.
Burial will be at Acton Cemetery in Acton.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Ms. McNew.
