Wilbur Hedden Sr., 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born June 27, 1956, to James Hedden and Judy (Youngman) Hedden in Shelbyville.
Survivors include his mother of Indianapolis; two daughters: Tabitha Asher Smith of Franklin; and Dorothy Kayse and husband, Jason, of Kentucky; son, Wilbur Hedden Jr. and wife, Rita, of Franklin; nine grandchildren; five brothers: James Hedden and wife, Theresa, of Shelbyville; Kenny Hedden and wife, Sharon, of Shelbyville; Karl and Roy Hedden, both of Columbus; and Lewis Hedden and wife, Pat, of Florida; four sisters: Wanda Wise of Vevay; Pam Watkins of Illinois; Dee Downhour and husband, Terry, of Indianapolis; and Chrissy Hedden of Indianapolis; and five stepbrothers, Randall, James, Russell, Kenny and Freddy Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father and Lena Bartlett Harding, who raised him through childhood.
Mr. Hedden's favorite pastime was gardening. He always enjoyed watching his favorite NASCAR drivers.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Seth Taylor officiating.
Burial will be at Norristown Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Wilbur Hedden Sr. Funeral Fund in care of the funeral home.
