Russell S. Kelsay Jr., 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1939, in Shelbyville to Russell Kelsay Sr. and Esther (Mullen) Kelsay. He married Jean Gilles on May 27, 1961, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Dennis Kelsay of Shelbyville, Greg Kelsay and wife, JoAnn, of Shelbyville, and Ron Kelsay and wife, Julie, of Franklin; daughter, Brenda Simmons and husband, David, of Columbus; grandchildren, Scott Kelsay and wife, Brandy, Josh Kelsay and wife, Emily, and Nick Kelsay, all of Shelbyville, Kylie Kerns and husband, Kaleb, of Terre Haute, Krista Green and husband, Justin, of Shelbyville, Daron Simmons and wife, Mandy, Aaron Simmons and wife, Kaela, and Lauren Simmons, all of Columbus, Sarah Polley III and husband, Kenny, of Greenwood, and Matt Kelsay and Cameron Kelsay, both of Franklin; great-granddaughters, Amiah, Zoey and McKinnley of Shelbyville; sister, Marilyn VanCleve and husband, Gene, of Shelbyville; and brother, Rudy Kelsay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Ball.

Mr. Kelsay was the owner of Kelsay Painting for 25 years. He did part-time work after retiring for the Simmons Winery in Columbus.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, where he served as trustee, Knights of Columbus and Sons of the American Legion.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Morningstar officiating.

Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to Shelby Senior Services, 1504 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176, or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th St., Columbus, IN 47201-5417.
