Elizabeth L. Stephens, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Major Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1943, to Maurice McNeely and Bertha (Hipshur) McNeely in Shelbyville. She married Johnny R. Stephens on Jan. 6, 1962, and he survives in Shelbyville.
Other survivors include children: Christina Williams and husband, Duke, of Shelbyville; Johnny Stephens of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Tammy Barker and husband, Keith, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tiffany Craig, Leahann Williams, Bobbi Williams and Hannah Barker; great-grandchildren, Jacob Craig and Billie Wampler-Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Elizabeth was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene.
She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70.
Elizabeth was an avid bingo player and loved going to the casino. She enjoyed dancing, making crafts and being with her friends and family. She loved her dog, JJ.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 a.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
