R. Scott Wingo

 

R. Scott Wingo, 51, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his residence.

He was born June 7, 1962, to Charles F. Wingo and Elizabeth (Marks) Wingo in New London, Connecticut.

Survivors include wife, Kimberly (Strough) Wingo, of Shelbyville; mother, Elizabeth Wingo of Shelbyville; son, Jacob Wingo of Shelbyville; daughter, Catherine Wingo of Shelbyville; brother, Mark Wingo and wife, Kelley, of Arizona; and niece, Emily Wingo of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wingo.

 
Mr. Wingo earned a Bachelor of Science from Franklin College, and a master's degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.

He was employed as an investigator with Shelby County Child Protective Service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.

Burial will be at Sydney Cemetery in Hope at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Scott's memory may be made to Shelby County Court Appointed Special Advocates in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Scott was my math teacher years ago at Ivy Tech in Shelbyville. Always a great help and willing to take extra time if necessary. Thoughts and prayers to the family in this difficult time.
