Jonathan Hilt, 59, of Shelbyville, entered into rest Friday, April 4, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1954, to Gilbert J. Hilt and Marjorie (Han) Hilt in Seymour. He married Sheila Hirschauer on July 6, 1974, and she survives in Shelbyville.
Other survivors include daughter, Whitney Kincade and husband, Chad, of Shelbyville; son, Andrew Hilt and wife, Erin, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Braiden, Nolen and Brooke Kincade, and Amelia and Jonathan Maddox Hilt; and brothers, Christoper Hilt of Arizona and Eric Hilt and wife, Barbara, of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Hilt.
Mr. Hilt was employed with Indiana Gas/Vectren as fitter/operator for 32 years.
He enjoyed being outside, working on the yard and working on cars. His grandchildren were one of his greatest pleasures in life.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Paul Landwerln officiating.
Burial will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens in Shelbyville.
