Dorothy Rash
Dorothy Rash, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 24, 1942, to Jolie Brown and Ethel (Stanton) Brown in Taylor County, Ky. She married Melvin Rash on July 22, 1951, and he survives in Shelbyville.
Other survivors include brother, Archie Brown of Campbellsville, Ky. sisters, Lola Sallee and Peggy Bryant, both of Campbellsville; daughter, Melva Bush and husband, Brad, of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Nick Bush and Ashley Bush, both of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Charles Brown, Louie Brown, Elmer Brown and Danny Brown; and sister, Augusta Walters.
Mrs. Rash was a self-employed beautician for 25 years.
She was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.
She cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” on television.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robb Barlow officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
