Clifford E. Hood
Clifford E. Hood, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Waldron Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born Jan. 12, 1936, to Silas Hood and Edna (Nelson) Hood in Ohio. He married Mary Jayne (Spaulding) Hood.
Survivors include his wife of Shelbyville; daughter, Maria Moore and husband, Kevin, of Shelbyville; son, Brian Hood and wife, Carolyn, of Shelbyville; daughter, Leigh Poland and husband, Bill, of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Lauren Ryan, Chelsea Hood and Morgan Etherton; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Ryan, Carter Dunagan, Jayla Ash and Kingstyn Ash; and brother, Ellis Hood of Connersville.
He also leaves behind the family pet, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hood was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He worked for Ashcraft Trucking until their closure. He then worked for Ryobi Die Casting, retiring in 1999.
Mr. Hood played softball and basketball as leisure activities in city leagues for many years.
He was a member of American Legion Post #70 and the Shelbyville Moose Lodge.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
