Juan J. Martinez
Juan J. Martinez, 54, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Major Hospital.
He was born Dec. 18, 1959, to Carlos Martinez and Inez (Ruiz) Martinez in Indianapolis. He married Gregoria (Pina) Martinez on Nov. 28, 1984, and she survives in New Palestine.
Other survivors include two sons, Juan Carlos Martinez of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Alex Martinez of Paris Island, S.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Martinez of Indianapolis; sister, Margarit Martinez of Indianapolis; and brother, Mike Martinez of Indianapolis.
Mr. Martinez was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Mr. Martinez attended St. Teresa Little Flower Church.
He enjoyed playing guitar, the outdoors and all types of sports.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.
Burial will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens in the Heroes of Honor & Glory Garden with full military rites.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks and Sheila J. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Martinez.

Your father was a wonderful and fun loving man. He was a good friend, we will truly miss him and his AWESOME SMILE. Please let us know if theres anything we can do. Our hearts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Wow....Juan....we work together for many years....we only spoke in passing....our parents new each other for years...we coincidentally spoke over James Martin cel phone the thrusday night before you passed......I was aways so proud of you an your childrens Military service...........Im sorry we never had a chance to have a beer together, we were both bizzy with our lives...and Juan you lead a good one.
