Thomas John "Pollock" Krynicki, 83, of Flat Rock, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.
He was born May 25, 1930, to Ignatz Krynicki and Jennie Komowski in Bretz, W.V. He married Charlotte Jean Watkins on June 18, 1955, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2010.
Survivors include son, Thomas (wife, Bobbie) Krynicki of Lakeville; five daughters, Robin (husband, Ted) Lysiak of Akron, Ohio, Delana (Myers) (husband, Kim) Brenner of Shelbyville, Dawn (husband, Tim) Runnebohm of Shelbyville, Cynthia (husband, Fred) Brattain of Waldron and Ronda Hall (companion, Josh Evans) of Rushville; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, George Krynicki of West Virginia, Frank Krynicki of Homestead, N.C., Richard Krynicki of Kingwood, W.V. and Edward Holipsky; and five sisters, Leona Spartan, Jay Fiore, Agnes Neugenbauer, Irene Shaffer and Vicky Bonnett.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Mr. Krynicki was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Knauf Fiberglass, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a true National Football League sports fan.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and they were his pride and joy.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 East Michigan Road, Shelbyville., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.
Burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County. Graveside military rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans in care of the funeral home.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks and Sheila J. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Krynicki.
