Thomas Charles Griffith, 72, of Fairland, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his daughter's residence. He was born July 11, 1941, to Leonard Griffith and Edna (Ratekin) Griffith in Shelbyville.
He married Sharon Crafton in 1962 and she preceded him in death in April 2010.
Survivors include son, B. Craig Griffith of Sumter, S.C.; daughters, Tammy Griffith, Kelley Griffith and Shelly (husband, Dallas) Sparks, all of Boggstown; grandchildren, Jared, Abigail and Nikolas Sparks; siblings, Sandra Hobbs, Elizabeth Calloway, Jay Griffith, Eddie Griffith and Dorothy Parsley, all of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Harold Griffith and David Griffith; and sister, Barbara Griffith.
Mr. Griffith retired as a machinist from General Electric/Wellman Thermal Systems.
He enjoyed reading, traveling and bird-watching. His greatest pleasure was spoiling his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Robert Prather officiating.
Burial will be at Fairland Cemetery.
