Charlene Sue Rosenfeld, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born March 2, 1943, to Roy V. Georges and Mary A. (Yates) Georges in Somerville.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas N. Rosenfeld of Shelbyville; sons, Scott T. (wife, Heather) Rosenfeld of Indianapolis and Todd A. Rosenfeld of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Emily L. Rosenfeld and Hannah M. Rosenfeld of Indianapolis; and sister, Bette Jo (husband, Robert) Hunt of Poseyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Charlene graduated from Mackey High School in Gibson County and from Oakland City University in 1964.
Her teaching career was in language arts and physical education at North Posey Junior-Senior High School from 1964 to1966 and Waldron Junior-Senior High School from 1967 to 1972.
Charlene's true passion was reconnecting numerous family members together again through her genealogy research. She always found time to play mahjong.
God blessed her with great talents and abilities which she shared so freely with others. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where she served on numerous committees over the years. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella where she served as chairman of Daughters of Isabella/Knights of Columbus Scholarship Committee. She volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic School. Charlene served on the board of directors for the following organizations: Grover Museum, Shelby County Red Cross and The Salvation Army, where she served as chairman of Christmas Toy Town for years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, with celebrant Father Aaron Pfaff and co-celebrants Father Paul Landwerlen and Father William Ernst.
Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 136 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks and Sheila J. Parks are honored to conduct the services for the Rosenfeld family.

We are traveling out west and received the email about Charlene. We were so very sorry to get this news. What a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile. Always so happy and fun to be around. She always had stories of her boys. She was so proud of them. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tom and family so sorry for your loss of wife and mother.
