Donnie Picket was a boyhood friend and school mate of mine for twelve years. We and my cousin Larry Weaver enjoyed many hours of exploring, fishing, and hunting along the streams that ran close to both of our homes. We learned to swim by riding our bicycles to the Shelbyville swimming pool in the summer when school was out.
Over the years I got to see Donnie's Parents and Sister a few times when my wife and I were visiting back to Indiana, but I only got to see Donnie a couple of times. When his son's were young boys and when he and us visited his Mother in a nursing home shortly before her passing.
I and my wife send our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones for their loss of Donnie who was taken from them much to early.
Michael DeBaun from Florida.
