Although it has been about 30 years since I had Mrs. Juarez for a teacher, I still remember some of the poetry we had to memorize in her class. "A Patch of Old Snow" by Robert Frost and "The Lay of the Last Minstrel" by Sir Walter Scott as well as one about a squirrel. She was an excellent educator and caring lady. I am sorry for your family's loss.

My deepest sympathy to the family. It is amazing how we remember our special teachers over the years. I can only remember a few of them and Mrs. Juarez is one of them. She is so fondly remembered.

I am so sorry for the family's loss, I only remember about 3 or 4 teachers from Jr. High but I remember Mrs. Juarez vividly. She was a very caring teacher and to this day I still tell people she was my favorite teacher. When I saw her out and about and spoke, she always stopped to speak. The town lost a very special lady, but heaven gained a special angel.

Mrs. Juarez was a passionate teacher who believed in her students. As a former student and a future teacher, her passion will never be forgotten. God bless her family and those who remember her kind soul and spirit!

I was just thinking about Ms. Juarez last week. I am now an English teacher in large part to her love of the language that she instilled in me. I don't have many memories of junior high, but I still remember her opening the windows in the dead of winter because she was always hot, teaching Greek mythology (which I teach every year because she made me love it!), and having us recite poems (Hope is a thing with feathers...). It is fitting that she and I shared the same profession and the same grade level and subject. She was an inspiration. She gave me the love of our language.

To Anne's entire family which goes far beyond blood! Not only did she successfully teach thousands of Shelbyville's junior high and middle schoolers over the years, she worked with adults who for one reason or another, never learned to read. Anne knew her craft and never stopped giving. What a keen sense of humor she had! We can still hear the laughter in her classroom, joining her for a laugh or two while sitting downstairs in the old junior high lounge, or even the non-stop laughter on bales of hay at a fellow teacher's cook-out. We loved to laugh with Anne. We miss her and Shelby County has lost a treasure. You have our condolences.

Eric,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I did get to see your Mother while I was visiting mine at Waldron. I enjoyed having her as a teacher and she was a great person. Take care my friend.

Absolutely one of the best teachers and I have such wonderful memories of Mrs. Juarez. I am positive she will be missed by all of her loved ones. Cecilia, I wasn't aware that Mrs. Juarez was your mother (I am not sure if you recognize my name, but Olivia is my daughter. She was in To Kill A Mockingbird with you this spring). This past Christmas, our church youth group visited McKay Manor. I was so honored to see your mom, and she was tickled that I remembered her and recognized her and sat down to chat. We had a wonderful talk that I really enjoyed. I am sorry for your loss.

Cecelia, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I always enjoyed laughing with your mom when she joined the "sit and be fit" fitness group that I taught at McKay Manor. I now know where your great wit and comedic timing came from! God bless you and your family.
