Virginia Elizabeth Lux, 94, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Major Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1918, to William Peek and Flora (Bower) Peek in Marion. She married Leo Anthony Lux Oct. 5, 1936, and he preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1998.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara (husband, Donald) Gahimer of Waldron, Lois Ann Weaver of Shelbyville, Judy Marie (husband, Earl) Weaver of Waldron and Nancy (husband, Charles) Rehn of Bargersville; two sons, Stephan William Lux of Latham, Tenn. and Richard Anthony Lux of Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dick Peek, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Lux was employed at Standard Grocery for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and served as church organist for 20 years. She was an Indiana University basketball fan and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to visit relatives.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4213 E. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176, with Father Paul Landwerlen officiating.
Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery in Shelby County.
