Jerry E. Shepard Harris, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born Aug. 24, 1936, to Orville Shepard and Lee Ellen (Rouse) Shepard in Shelbyville.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (husband, Larry) Caudill, Cindy (husband, Bobby) Higdon and Sherry (husband, Jim) Thompson, all of Shelbyville; six grandchildren, Mike, Davina, Christy, Randa, Dominique and Skylynn; six great-grandchildren; brother, Donnie Shepard; and five sisters, Sandy Thompson, Debbie Esters, Karen Jordan, Paula Griffin and Linda Fuquay.

She was preceded in death by sister, Glenda Remy; brothers, Billy Shepard, Raymond Shepard and Kenny Shepard; sons, Ramon Harris and Michael Shepard; and longtime companion, Raymond Phillips.

Mrs. Harris worked for the Admiral Corporation and Great States Corporation.

She loved reading books, playing bingo and cards and working crossword puzzles.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Major Marlene Edwards officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Harris.
