Charles R. "Dick" Jones, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013.

He was born Aug. 31, 1927, to Frank Jones and Ruby (McColley) Jones in Shelbyville. He married Margaret Mary (Havens) Jones Oct. 15, 1949, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Janet Jones of Shelbyville; son, Bruce (wife, Lisa) Jones of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jeremy, Scott and Amy Jones, Eric (wife, Courtney) Jones and Sarah (husband, Josh) Harris; great-grandchildren, Noah, Kameron, Levi, Blake, Rylee, Trent, Eli, Oliver and Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Mr. Jones was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shelbyville. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed making stained glass pieces. His family were his treasures.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Home, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Jones.

Margaret, Bruce & Janet,
I'm so sorry to here about Dick. It has been many years but I still treasure the Boy Scout days, rabbit hunting and the many fun times on Hendricks St. and at St Joe's. May God comfort you and always hold on to the memories.
