Jeanne Losey, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

She was born July 4, 1925, to Harry Knowlton and Ruth Franklin (Greene) Knowlton in Mt. Auburn. She married Glen Losey on July 25, 1943, and he preceded her in death in 1980.

Survivors include seven children, Michael H. Losey of Greenfield, Brenda Stull of Shelbyville, Linda Losey of Shelbyville, Judy Jones of Shelbyville, Denise McKenney of Indianapolis, David G. Losey of Greenfield and Daniel J. Losey of Shelbyville; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Reba Cochran of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Peggy Losey; and son, James Losey.

Mrs. Losey had worked at Admiral and Cinch Corp. Mrs. Losey was a member of the Indiana Poetry Club, the Indiana State Federation of Poetry Clubs and received the first-ever Grand Prize Poetry Award at the 1986 National Convention.

She attended the First Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Norristown chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She always enjoyed her crossword puzzles and feeding her friendly squirrel that ate from her lap. She also was a devoted Indiana Pacers basketball fan.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Eastern Star service will be recited at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the funeral home with Dr. Stephen Bohall and the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mrs. Losey.
