Lowell "Tom" Rudicel, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Shelbyville to Lowell G. Rudicel and Margaret (Sergant) Rudicel.
He married Sue (Brannin) Phillips-Rudicel on July 1, 2005, and she survives in Shelbyville.
Other survivors include a son, Jamie Rudicel of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tyler, Dakota and Chelsea Rudicel and Shawn (wife, Tasha) Ramey; great-grandchildren Noah, Abel and Owen Ramey, and Lilie and Emma Rudicel; and sisters, Ann (husband, Gene) Heinz of Florida and Sally (husband, Bob) Dahlheim, of North Carolina.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Susan (Miller) Rudicel, who passed away in 2004; and daughters, LeAnn Rudicel and Lisa Ramey.
Mr. Rudicel worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 40 years as a computer programmer until his retirement. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1957. He then attended Franklin College. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #822.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church,125 E. Broadway St., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating. Burial will be in a private ceremony at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
