Ruth I. Tucker, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Franciscan St. Francis Health - Indianapolis.
She was born Oct. 27, 1934, to James B. Sweet and Cecile I. (Ewick) Sweet in Shelbyville. She married Jack Tucker Aug. 14, 1965, and he preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1999.
Survivors include five children, Ralph (wife, Jill) Tucker of Rushville, Vickie (husband, Scott) Fassold of Nineveh, Connie Henson of Shelbyville, Timothy (wife, Lydia) Tucker and Thomas Tucker, both of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don (wife, Sally) Sweet of Rays Crossing and Robert J. (wife, Ann) Sweet of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church. She liked to do embroidery and scrapbooking. Her family was a true gift from God.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Friends also may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at Evangelical Methodist Church, 267 E. Washington St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the church with the Rev. Tim Hampton officiating.
Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Shelbyville.
