Gladys F. Carlton-Carmer, 68, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Heritage House in Shelbyville.
She was born Aug. 18, 1944, to Addis Burchett and Hattie (Johnson) Burchett in Noblesville.
Survivors include son Donald (wife, Lagina) Carlton of New Point; sister, Martha (husband, Rick) Davidson of Shelbyville; stepdaughter, Tammy Dickson of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Carlton, Kirstin Staggs, Kymberlea Staggs, Cherakee Carlton, Dakota Carlton, Ashley Trolinder and Lindsay Trolinder; brother-in law, Matt Flannery of Shelbyville; and sisters-in-law, Doris Burchett and Mary Burchett, both of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Ms. Carmer was a homemaker. She was known for her devotional poems.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Vise officiating.
Burial will be at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gladys Carmer Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
