Leslie Floyd Hedman, 65, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born March 1, 1947, to Wayne B. Hedman and Zella Lucille (Clarke) Hedman in Shelbyville. He married Margaret Katherine (Lawson) Hedman on Jan. 11, 1969, and she survives in Shelbyville.
Other survivors include his mother; daughter, Sarah (husband, Ralph) Stevens of Shelbyville; sisters-in-law, Joyce Everhart of Shelbyville, Patricia (husband, Louie) Dunfee of Ohio and Viola Lawson of Iowa; brother-in-law, Richard (wife, Becky) Lawson of New Mexico; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Anna and Nathaniel Hedman; nine nephews; four nieces; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Wayne Hedman; and sister, Lorinda Montgomery.
Mr. Hedman was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. He worked as head locksmith at the Indiana Government Center, retiring in 2009 after 39 years of service. He was a member of Daysprings Community Church. The men's fellowship group at Walmart was a time he cherished. He was an avid football fan. Otherwise he enjoyed fishing and golf.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Stephens officiating.
Burial will be at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County. Graveside military rites will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
