Roger C. Shelton, 65, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Heritage House in Greensburg.

He was born May 28, 1947, to John R. Shelton Jr. and Virginia B. (Miller) Shelton in Shelbyville.

Survivors include son, David (wife, Prudence) Shelton of Shelbyville; grandson, Timothy Shelton; granddaughter, Virginia Shelton; brothers, Jerry Spencer Shelton of Mich. and Arthur Joseph (wife, Rhonda) Shelton of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven Shelton.

Mr. Shelton was an avid collector of antiques. He was employed with Wellman Furnaces Inc. for 37 years.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam from 1966 - 1970.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Shelton officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Military rites will be performed by local veterans organizations.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Shelton.

To the Family of Roger Shelton, You have our deepest sympathy. We had the privilege of going thru school with him, and visiting with Roger the last few years.

To the Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. We worked with Roger at Wellman for many years. We also enjoyed the times he was feeling well enough to attend our Wellman breakfast at Denneys each month. He will be missed. Praying for the family.
