Phillip W. Wilson, 60, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs. He was a former Shelbyville resident.
He was born Dec. 23, 1952, to Earl S. Wilson and Bonnie G. (Myers) Wilson in Columbus. He married Shelley K. (Shaner) Wilson on June 20, 1975, and she survives.
Other survivors include his father and stepmother, Earl S. and Sue Wilson; brother, Marlin L. (wife, Laura) Wilson of Indianapolis; sister, Marilyn (husband, Ed) Topham of Denver; nephews, Sam Wilson and Nick Wilson, both of Indianapolis; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie G. Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was an electronics expert. He was employed as a salesman for Home Depot for 10 years. He was a member of First Methodist Church of Shelbyville. He loved his cats, "Onyx," "Punkin" and "Sweetheart." He was a fan of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and a big NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ronnie Caine officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
