Clifford C. Moss, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Major Hospital.
He was born Oct. 3, 1917, to Richard Moss and Gail Crabbe Moss in Owensburg. He married Lorena Bennett on March 9, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 1994.
Survivors include four sons, Bill (wife, Truus) Moss of Florida, David (wife, Shannon) Moss of Shelbyville, Alan (wife, Cindy) Moss of Shelbyville and Bryan (wife, Tammy) of Shelbyville; a daughter, Sharrell (husband, Larry) Adkins of Rushville; daughter-in-law, Bonnie (husband, Charles) Oswald of Shelbyville; sister, Lillian Johnson of Linton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his favorite dog and companion, "Henry."
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Moss, son, Steven Moss and sister, Mary Thomas.
Mr. Moss was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with J.L. Chase-Albert Furniture Co. and with Shelbyville Central Schools as a custodian, retiring in 1987. He was a past member of the American Legion Post #70 and Eagles Lodge. His favorite pastime was playing cards with his family. Otherwise, he would be found tinkering around with anything mechanical.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Hampton officiating. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington.
Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Moss.
