Dale Q. Anderson, 87, of Shelbyville, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was born June 1, 1925, to Ebert Anderson and Hazel (Stinnett) Anderson in Shelbyville. He married Carla Cooper on Dec. 12, 1947, and she preceded him in death on November 15, 1995.

Survivors include: son, Paul (wife, Cathy) Anderson, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, David (wife, Becky) Wilhelm, Todd (wife, Adria) Anderson, Willy Wilhelm, Kelley (husband, Terrill) Bringle, Teressa (husband, Andy) Baxter, and Aaron Wiley; sisters, Esther Brown, of Shelbyville, and June (Harold) Cherry, of Shelbyville; brother, Gary (wife, Donna) Anderson, of Rushville; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father, Ebert Anderson; mother, Hazel (Stinnett) Anderson; daughter, Maurine Wiley; son, Michael Anderson; four brothers; and one sister.

He served in the U.S. Navy in Korea. He was employed as a plumber and was owner and operator of Anderson Plumbing and Heating.

Mr. Anderson was an avid fisherman, woodworking was his hobby and he always had an interest in baseball.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Funeral directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart H. Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Anderson.
