Naomi Rash, 78, of Shelbyville died Friday, March 23, 2012, at Miller Merry Manor in Rushville.

Born March 27, 1933, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Clifton and Lola Gaye (Noel) Cox. She married Roy “Bruce” Rash in October of 1951, and he passed away Aug. 6, 1986.

Survivors include daughter, Denese (Joe) Newton of Manilla; son, Sam Rash; grandchildren, Leslie, Laura, Natasha, Megan, Moria, Jeremy Bruce and Sammy Joe “Brad”; brother, Mack (Ruby) Cox of Casey, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Sue Cox, Janet Cox, Beverly Rodgers, Bernita (Marion) Murphy and Dwalla (Clyde) Akridge, all of Kentucky, Charlotte (Shelby) Hicks of Ohio and Fonda (Greg) Weintraut of Shelbyville; and brother-in-law, Melvin (Dorothy) Rash of Kentucky.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rhoda Rash, who died in 1958; a son, Terry Rash, who died in 2001; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Rash was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed her rummage sale adventures.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, March 26th, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
