Aloysius “Red” Schoentrup, 82, of Shelbyville died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his residence.

Born Jan. 10, 1930, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Aloysius and Gertrude (Gosch) Schoentrup. he married Patricia Jo Blackburn on Jan. 26, 1954, and she passed away on Feb. 17, 2008.

Survivors include daughters, Beth Schoentrup of Shelbyville and Debbie (Tim) Schoentrup-Cook of Indianapolis; brother John Schoentrup of Shelbyville; and sister, Catherine Wertz of Shelbyville.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Schoentrup; and a sister, Florence Wisker.

Mr. Schoentrup graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1947 and served in the Indiana National Guard.

He and his brothers built, owned and operated ADA Feed and Grain for many years. He also owned and operated Red’s Place in Bargersville for 43 years.

Mr. Schoentrup was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Red enjoyed discussing sports and agribusiness and was an avid IU fan and leaves behind many who loved him.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
