I'm 50 and started hanging out at Red's when I was 20 or so. Had fake ID and I remember Red looking at it, looking at me, shaking his head and letting me on through. He always remembered me when I would show up in there, which wasn't very often, but he had a smile going and always made me feel welcome.

To Red's family. I only met Red once for a few days on a few day pass from the military. I visited with a friend who lived there before joing the Navy. Steve always talked about Red and I can tell you I never met a nicer man. He welcomed me in Red's like I had lived there for 40 years and have to say that weekend is one of my finest memories of my military career. In keeping with the tradition of the Navy I would like to wish Red "Fair Winds and Following Seas".

Dear Beth, Debbie, Tim and Family,

It is difficult to find the words to express our feelings of loss for you, ourselves, and for everone ever blessed by knowing your dad. We have an enormous amount of respect for him; not only because of his life-long accomplishments, but also for the strong, true, friend he was to so many. At this moment, images flood my mind of Red sitting at the end of the bar, laughing, with that famous, mischievous grin of his. I will hold that, and many other memories of him close to heart.

Please accept our apologies for not being able to gather with you, your family and friends at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God lift you up and hold you near.

God Bless You All

Red, you were as much as part of our family as anyone. Every one of us celecbrated our 21st birthdays with you, and many more after that! My grandfather considered you a close friend, and we always appreciated your watchful eye for all of our family. You will be greatly missed, but your memory will live on in the hearts of those of us who loved you.
