Alice M. Price, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at her residence Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, with her daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law, Jerrold, at her side.

Born Sept. 6, 1925, in Norwalk, Calif., she was the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Thelma (Miles) Carney.

Survivors include sons, Roy S. (Vickie) Price of Anderson and Bill (Tammy) Price of Shelbyville; daughters, Carrie (Jerrold) Harcourt and Sandra (David) Cord, both of Shelbyville, and Erlene (William) Barger of Three Rivers, Mass.; brother, Ray Carney of Jacksboro, Tenn.; sister, Mary Fisher of Waverly, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer Sims, Hank Riley, Angela Price, Stephanie Gant, Sierra Goodin, Hannah Price and Crystal Jenkins; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Speaks, Annabelle Price and Isabella Goodin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Carney, who died during World War II; and two half sisters.

Alice was born in California and lived in Tennessee and Ohio before moving to Shelbyville in 1962.

She retired from her work as a machine operator in 1988 after 13 years at Plastic Moldings.

Alice was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church.

She was an avid Yahtzee player, enjoyed reading and liked to watch old-time black-and-white movies. She also left behind her dog, Jake.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m, Friday, Feb. 17th, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m at the funeral home, with James Brunner officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Shelbyvville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville IN 46176.
