Donald Tresler, 74, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Sept. 28, 1937, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Arnold and Alice (Bailey) Tresler. He married Diana Schnippel on June 14, 1959, and she survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Deana (Ronnie) Thurston of Shelbyville; son, Donnie Dee Tresler of Shelbyville; and grandsons, Derek (Shonda) Tresler, Dustin Tresler, Tresler Thurston and Donald Tresler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half sister; and two half brothers.


 

Mr. Tresler was employed as a supervisor at Wellman’s, where he retired after 44 years of service.

He was a member of First Christian Church and Fraternal Order of Police.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief. I remember meeting your mom and dad back in the seventies. I always thought your family was like Ozzie and Harriet. skeeliYou were very blessed to have both parents. I always admired that about your family. Even tho I have not seen you for years. I have the fondest memories of one of my dearest friends in school. Knowing the angels have you and your family wrapped in their wings. Much love.. Blessings..

Diane, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family, Matt always thought so much of Deena and I also thought so much of you when you were at loper school. I only met Don a few times I will be always thinking of all of you.
