Deborah Jean Turner, 59, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Edinburgh.

She was born May 6, 1952, in Columbus to the late Ernie S. Howard Sr. and Jane (Burton) Howard. Her mother survives.

She married Ricky L. Turner Sr. on June 2, 1970. He survives.

Other survivors include two children, Michelle Barrett of Shelbyville and Ricky Turner Jr. of Edinburgh; two sisters, Norma Hughes of Edinburgh and Kathy Flynn of New Castle; a brother, Rodney Howard of Edinburgh; a half brother, Ernie Howard Jr. of Cambridge City; and four grandchildren, Kara and Kaleb Barrett and Cole and Isabella Turner.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Gerald Howard.

She was food service manager at East Side Elementary School. She also worked as marketing director at Chiro First Marketing in Indianapolis. Deborah loved traveling in her spare time.

The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 Eisenhower Drive, Edin‑

burgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
